Severe Thunderstorm Watch Has Been Canceled; Severe Threat Is Over

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was in effect for Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, Pike, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties until 7:00 pm has been canceled. The threat of severe storms has moved out of those locations.

The threat for severe weather is now over for all of Central Alabama. All this is left is moderate to some heavier rain with a few claps of thunder. All of these will continue to move through the area for the next several hours, coming to an end for the southern locations within the next couple of hours, then the rest of the area during the overnight hours. Lows will be falling into the lower to mid-60s.
