…A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT SHELBY COUNTY…
At 1238 PM CDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from American Village to near Jemison.
Movement was northeast at 40 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include…
Alabaster, Pelham, Leeds, Calera, Chelsea, Montevallo, Columbiana,
Wilsonville, Indian Springs Village, Vincent, Harpersville, Westover,
American Village, Oak Mountain State Park, Vandiver, Greystone,
Highland Lakes, Fowler Lake, University Of Montevallo and Shelby
County Airport.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
