A large area of moderate showers covers all of eastern Mississippi and much of western Alabama this afternoon.

The largest concentration of rain is west of I-65 and I-59.

South of I-59 and west of I-65, the activity is more cellular and showery in coverage. Some heavy showers are over Perry, Dallas, Chilton and Autauga Counties.

More showers were moving up through Butler and Crenshaw Counties. This activity will move generally up I-65 north of Montgomery.

Over eastern Alabama, light to moderate rain was over areas from St. Clair through Calhoun, Cleburne, Talladega, Clay and Randolph Counties. This is where some heavy rain will occur this evening. Behind this, a large area of moderate to heavy rain was moving through Lee and into Chambers County. This heavier rain will curve up through counties from St. Clair east through Calhoun and Cleburne. We will have to watch storms over in Southwest Georgia behind this that will perhaps move into eastern Alabama later this evening. These storms might have stronger updrafts that will interact with the shear from the low pressure system. This could lead to some rotating storms over East Alabama later this evening.

Our low is moving up into Southeast Mississippi at this time. This low will continue to pull moisture rich air up into Alabama overnight and tomorrow, bringing in some really tropical air. More showers and some storms will be the result.

Tomorrow, we will see morning showers, with more showers and storms developing during the afternoon. There will be quite a bit of rotation tomorrow, so there could be isolated, brief spin-up tornadoes. So keep that in mind as you go through your activities tomorrow.
