Strong Storms Central Alabama

NWS, Birmingham has posted a Significant Weather Alert for Jefferson County until 4:30. Mainly because of s strong thunderstorm near Homewood moving north at 20.

May produce gusts to 40, Also downpours of rain.

Will affect much of the Greater Birmingham Area.

This storm has already dumped 1/2 inch of rain in Bluff Park.

Actually it is part of a long line of showers and thunderstorms that extends west to east all the way across Central Alabama. From Lamar County on the west side eastward across South and West Jefferson, North Shelby, South Talladega and into the south parts of both Clay and Randolph County on the east side of the state.

Other scattered strong thunderstorms from east of Montgomery to south of Phenix City. They were also moving generally north.
