Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Buried in an Ocean of Humidity

In the huge, wet, soggy Gulf of Mexico airmass that covers Alabama like a wet blanket, showers are a given.

They were getting an early start this morning.

At 8:30 am, a broad avenue of showers extended from near Dothan, in SE Alabama north and NW across parts of Tallapoosa, Coosa, Chilton, Jefferson and South Walker to name a few.

The heaviest rain appeared to be over SE Alabama east and south of Montgomery.

Moderate to heavy rain Tallapoosa County.

Moderate to heavy showers also over West Jefferson and South Walker County west and NW of the Birmingham area.

Almost all of the lightning so far is with the SE labama storms. But that will change.

These weather updates can become outdated rather quickly on days like this with the showers moving at a moderate pace and new ones forming at the drop of a hat. We will try to generally keep up–especially with the biggies.
