North Alabama Storms
The cluster of strong thunderstorms over SW Tennessee this morning continued to move toward the ESE. Almost all of those are over extreme North Alabama this afternoon and also some others developed.
At 1:10 p.m., a line of intense thunderstorms extended from along the Madison/Jackson County line between Huntsville and Scottsboro south westward entering Marshall County and through East Morgan County. The strongest storms were between Huntsville and Scottsboro.
Further south a smaller cluster of storms, but locally heavy, were moving ESE through Walker County near Jasper and approaching NW Jefferson County.
The NWS in Huntsville continues a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Jackson and Marshall Counties until 1:30.
NWS in Birmingham has a Significant Weather Alert for Walker and Winston Counties until 1:30. This is short of a warning, but it does mean that there can be some hail, strong gusty winds, dangerous lightning and heavy downpours.
