Significant Weather Advisory for Patchy Dense Fog across north
central Alabama, northeast Alabama and southern middle Tennessee
Patchy Dense Fog has developed across portions of north central
Alabama, northeast Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, with
visibilities dropping to one quarter of a mile or less in isolated
areas.
Due to the low cloud bases across the region, visibility reductions
will be even more significant and widespread atop the Cumberland
Plateau, as well as Sand and Lookout Mountains, where some locations
may experience visibility close to zero.
Motorists traveling through the region this morning are urged to
drive with extreme caution, as visibilities will vary significantly.
Use low beams, reduce driving speed, and allow for plenty of room
between you and other cars.
The fog should begin to burn off between 8 and 9 AM CDT.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, or a favorite local media outlet,
for further statements or updates from the National Weather Service
in Huntsville.
