The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
    East central Jefferson County in central Alabama…

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 346 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Due to high rainfall rates and the stationary movement of these storms, at least minor flooding is expected, especially in low lying and poor drainage areas. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
    Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook, Irondale, Fultondale, Tarrant, Birmingham Fairgounds, B.j.c.c., Kingston, Five Points South, Birmingham Airport, Legion Field, U.A.B. Campus, Samford University, Birmingham Southern College, Cahaba Heights, Regions Field and The Summit.
