| August 25, 2019 @ 3:01 pm

As expected, showers and storms are fairly widespread across West Central Alabama this afternoon.

They extend across parts of Fayette, Tuscaloosa, Pickens, Sumter, Greene, Hale, and Choctaw Counties.

They have been increasing in coverage and intensity since the noon hour.

The strongest storm was near Samantha in northern Tuscaloosa County. Other stronger cells are near Eutaw in Greene County and near Aliceville in Pickens County.

The individual cells are moving generally to the north. The entire mass of rain and storms should lift northeastward into the evening hours.
