…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR PICKENS AND LAMAR COUNTIES UNTIL
915 AM CDT…

At 813 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Waverly to near Brooksville to near
Gholson. Movement was east at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Aliceville, Vernon, Sulligent, Gordo, Reform, Millport, Carrollton,
Pickensville, Kennedy, Ethelsville, McMullen, Benevola, Johnston
Lake, Bevill Lock And Dam, Garden, Blooming Grove, Lamar County
Airport, Crews, Bedford and Cody.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Birmingham.
