Very heavy rain in the Tuscaloosa to Birmingham Corridor has prompted a flash flood warning.

The warning includes the Birmingham Metro, Leeds, Pelham, Lake View, Brookwood, Coaling, Tuscaloosa, and Northport.

The heaviest rain extends from the Hoover to the Alabaster area southwestward along Ii-59 to Tuscaloosa then back across Pickens, Sumter, and Greene Counties.

One hour rainfall rates are approaching 1 inch and exceeding it in a few spots. This is capable of causing flash flooding.
