EXPIRED – Flood Advisory For Parts Of Pickens, Greene, Sumter Counties Until 1:45 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Southwestern Pickens County in west-central Alabama…
Western Greene County in west-central Alabama…
Sumter County in west-central Alabama…

* Until 145 PM CST.

* At 1046 AM CST, Doppler radar has indicated one to two inches of
rain has fallen over the advisory area in the past several hours.
Light to moderate rain is expected to continue through the morning
which may cause minor flooding of low lying areas due to saturated
soils.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Livingston, York, Aliceville, Pickensville, Boligee, Gainesville,
Epes, Emelle, McMullen, Panola, West Greene, The University Of West
Alabama, Dug Hill, Bevill Lock And Dam, Tishabee, Garden, New West
Greene, Boyd, Allison, and Bluffport.

Additional rainfall of one-half inch is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
