EXPIRED – Flood Advisory For Parts Of Fayette & Lamar Counties Until 2:00 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Western Fayette County in west-central Alabama…
Lamar County in west-central Alabama…

* Until 200 PM CST.

* At 1101 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated around one inch to one and
a half inches of rain has fallen over the advisory area in the
past several hours. Additional light rain will continue over the
area through the morning. Minor flooding is possible in low lying
areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Fayette, Vernon, Sulligent, Millport, Kennedy, Belk, Bankston,
Blooming Grove, Lamar County Airport, Bedford, Bluff, Gattman,
Cody, Stone Wall, Wayside, Richard Arthur Field, Lamar County
Public Lake, Fayette County Public Lake, Bevill State College
Fayette and Hubbertville.

Additional rainfall of up to a quarter of an inch is expected over
the area. This additional rain may result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
