EXPIRED Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Parts of Greene and Sumter Counties Until 3:30 a.m.

The first in a series of waves of thunderstorms is entering West Alabama at this hour.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of South Central Alabama including Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Russell, and Sumter counties until 10:00 AM CST

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Greene County in west central Alabama…
Northern Sumter County in west central Alabama…

* Until 330 AM CST.

* At 233 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Electric
Mills, or 17 miles north of Lauderdale, moving east at 60 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
