Flood Warning Issued For Parts Of Cherokee County Until 3:00 PM Sunday

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
East central Cherokee County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until 300 PM CDT Sunday.

* At 206 PM CST, reporting gauges indicate elevated levels along the
Coosa River above Weiss Lake. This will cause lowland flooding
along the Coosa River above Weiss Lake.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Cedar Bluff, Eastern Weiss Lake, Waterhouse and Howells Crossroads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
