Dangerous Tornado On The Ground In Colbert County

A dangerous tornado continues to move across Colbert County and was very close to Cherokee as I started typing this post and headed toward Tuscumbia.

…A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN COLBERT COUNTY…

At 557 PM CDT, a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located
near Cherokee, or 13 miles west of Tuscumbia, moving east at 35 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD…Damaging tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
is possible.

Locations impacted include…
Red Rock, Posey Loop, Barton, Srygley Church and New Bethel.

Heavy rainfall may hide this tornado. Do not wait to see or hear the
