WEATHER FOR THE REST OF YOUR TUESDAY

For the northern half of the area, it will be a cool day with mostly sunny skies throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening. For the southern half, skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy and temperatures will be mild to warm. Highs across Central Alabama will range from the upper 50s in the northwest to the lower 80s in the southeast.

As we get into the late-night and overnight hours, those temperatures will really start to drop across the area. Skies will be clear for the northern half of the area while clouds will partially fill the skies over the southern half. A stray shower or two may be possible over the extreme southeastern parts of the area, but chances are very low at the moment. Lows will range from the lower 30s to the upper 40s across the area from northwest to southeast.

FROST ADVISORY FOR PARTS OF THE AREA ON WEDNESDAY 3:00 AM TO 8:00 AM

Temperatures will be in the low to mid-30s across the northern half of the area, resulting in areas of frost. Colder valleys may reach the freezing mark, but a widespread freeze is not expected at this time. Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
