Heads Up Sumter County, Severe T-Storm Heading Your Way

This severe thunderstorm is moving to the east at 40 MPH and may affect Emelle, Geiger, Gainesville, Epes, and Livingston within the next 30-60 minutes. Here is the text of the warning:

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Kemper County in east central Mississippi…

* Until 230 PM CDT.

* At 148 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Porterville,
or 8 miles north of Meridian Station, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.
