While Everybody is Sleeping
It is quiet across Alabama very early on this Tuesday morning..
At 1 am, the whole world seems quiet.
Nothing going on weatherwise across Alabama. Just a few light patches of rain over the north and over the southeast.
Off to our west, there was a family of thunderstorms over NW Mississippi just east of the Mighty Mississippi River. These storms were moving slowly east in connection with an upper level disturbance.
There is a good chance of showers and thunderstorms for Alabama today (Tuesday) and they will extend into tonight. Late Monday afternoon and evening, there were some strong thunderstorms that moved NE across the NW part of the state. There was scattered wind damage, mostly downed trees and power lines in parts of Lauderdale, Limestone and Franklin County, Power was out in Red Bay.
Heavy rain occurred near the Alabama Coast and over other parts of South Alabama. Three sample amounts:
1.47 inches at Brookley Field, Mobile
0.95 Mobile Regional Airport
1.13 Troy
