Thunderstorms continue to spread into Extreme NW Alabama from North Mississippi.
Now raining heavily over the west part of Lauderdale and Colbert County in NW Alabama.
In fact, a strong thunderstorm SW of Cherokee prompted the NWS/Huntsville to issue a Significant Weather Alert for part of that area.
Lots of lightning with those storms. Over in North Mississippi there has been a few Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. However, the Storm prediction Center does not have Alabama outlooked for organized severe weather today.
Lighter showers were beginning to develop out ahead of the main family of storms.
Good chance of thunderstorms in Alabama as the day goes on. For many areas, such as Birmingham, Gadsden, Anniston the main storms will be this afternoon but some will form before then.
