BIG NEWS: Indy Race Coming to Birmingham
The Grand Prix of Alabama will be held April 9-11, 2010. It will be around the same dates in 2011 and 2012.
This is huge news for the state and city. It will bring over 100,000 thousand racing fans to the Barbers Motorsports Park.
Tremendous local cooperation between the city, state and Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau. The races will each have $30 million impacts locally.
Birmingham beat out Cleveland, Houston, Baltimore, Nashville, Charlotte and Portland for the event.
