Beautiful Mother’s Day in Progress

| May 10, 2020 @ 11:30 am

There is not a cloud anywhere over the state of Alabama at this hour as high clouds that were over the southeastern part of the state have exited the area. The nearest rain is over North Florida.

Temperatures are climbing through the 60s across Central and North Alabama.

There are some clouds starting to show up over Centraal Arkansas at this hour. They are being stirred up a reinforcing cold front that will be pushing through Alabama tonight.

It will only serve to bring in more cool, dry air. A few clouds will accompany it, and the main effect you will notice will be the gusty winds right behind the front. The breezy conditions may persist into Monday morning, making it feel even chillier than the morning lows that will be mainly in the 40s overnight.

Tomorrow will be a nice day, with the mercury struggling to get above 70F north of I-20, despite a strong spring sun. Highs south of I-20 will be in the lower and middle 70s. 40s areawide tomorrow night. Perfect day Tuesday with a good supply of sunshine and highs in the middle 70s. 80s return for Wednesday and beyond.

Showers could return by the weekend, but they could hold off until Monday of the following week.
