| May 12, 2020 @ 11:20 am

As of 11:08 am, nearly all of Central Alabama is enjoying sunny skies, but the extreme northern parts of the area and up into North Alabama have some cloud cover. Believe it or not, showers are actually falling over the northwestern corner of the state just west of Florence and Muscle Shoals. Some sprinkles may be occurring underneath those clouds moving into the central and eastern parts of North Alabama.

Temperatures as of the 11:00 am round-up were in the mid-60s to the lower 70s across Central Alabama. The cool spot was Pell City at 64 degrees while the warm spot was Montgomery at 73 degrees. Birmingham was sitting at 68 degrees.

Ridging will keep any shower activity off to our north and we’ll stay dry for the remainder of the daylight hours. Most will stay sunny but the northern parts of the area may have a few clouds at times. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 70s to the lower 80s. For tonight, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy in the north and mostly clear in the south. Lows will fall into the mid-50s to the lower 60s.
