Here is the latest 0 to 1 km SRH graphic (storm relative helicity in the lowest 1 km of the atmosphere, or veering of the wind with altitude)…

You can see the helicity values are peaking near Memphis, where tornado warnings are in effect. SRH values are very low across Alabama, so for now the tornado threat is low. The higher SRH values could advect in here later today, but with decreasing instability, hopefully that will prevent a major severe weather problem.

We will be waiting and watching…
