Hello from Norman, Oklahoma
I am here in Norman, home of the National Weather Center, and probably the biggest concentration of severe weather experts in the world! It’s intimidating.
I have been invited to speak at NWC (which houses the Storm Prediction Center, the National Severe Storms Laboratory, and the Oklahoma School of Meteorology) on Tuesday on my and Kevin Knupp’s research on tornado interactions with outside influences (gravity waves, mountains, friction, etc.). I am honored to be out here, representing UAH, “The Norman of the Southeast”. See more about the presentation I’ll give here.
I will be meeting with several people tomorrow, then the big day is Tuesday. I’ll keep you posted…hope to have some pictures from inside SPC (where they issue the SLGT and MDT risks, the tornado watches, etc.)
