| November 1, 2020 @ 12:02 pm

A strong, but dry cold front is pushing quickly through Alabama late this morning.

It currently lies just south of I-59.

Dewpoints are dropping behind the front, and temperatures will be slowly falling during the afternoon. Winds are breezy and will become gusty overnight tonight.

Temperatures this afternoon will remain in the 60s across much of the area, except for over the Northwest, where the mercury will fall back into the 50s and near US-80, where readings will fall back from the lower 80s by late afternoon.

Tonight will be the coldest night of the year, with a freeze likely across the northern third of the state. A Freeze Warning is in effect for North and North Central Alabama, including Lamar, Fayette, Walker, Jefferson, Shelby, Talladega, Calhoun, and Cleburne Counties and all counties north of that, including Muscle Shoals, Hamilton, Jasper, Huntsville, Cullman, Birmingham, Gadsden, and Anniston.

Lows will look like this by morning:

The week ahead will be dry, with a mid to late-week moderation.
