EXPIRED Flood Advisory Issued for Marengo Co. Until 6:30 am
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Central Marengo County in southwestern Alabama…
* Until 630 AM CDT.
* At 332 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 2
and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Linden, Sweet Water, Myrtlewood, Miller, Freddie Jones Field,
Nanafalia, Half Acre, Calvary and Octagon.
Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
