Flooding Being Reported in Western Jefferson County, Some Wind Damage in Sumter County

We are getting reports of street flooding Bessemer as well as Hueytown with these storms across the Birmingham Metro.

1.5 inches of rain was reported in a short time in Hueytown. Now, John Talbot is reporting 2.27 inches of rain at his location in Hueytown.

As you can see, heavy rain extends back to the west-northwest through parts of Walker, Marion, Lamar, and Fayette Counties.

Be alert to flooding today if your location receives heavy rain. Turn around, don’t drown!

Trees have been reported down in Sumter County in the Siloam community according to Fire Chief Reid Vaughn. One tree fell into an unoccupied home. The damage is along AL-17 at Walker Road.
