Tornado Warning for Parts of Blount County until 6 p.m. for Confirmed Tornado

A confirmed tornado is reported in Blount County at Highway 79 at the Dallas/Selfville Fire Department.

Starting to get numerous reports of damage from northern Jefferson County. Spotter report of damage on Mt Olive Road: trees down and roof damage to homes, part of the canopy at Exxon station damaged, traffic light appears to be missing. Also trees and powerlines down on Beasley Rd.

John Talbot reports that Mt. Olive Rd is shut down for now until trees get cleared.

Mt. Olive Fire Department is reporting a tree on a house & business in the 2400 bl of Mt Olive Rd.

Tornado damage is being reported by our John Oldshue in northern Jefferson County. Damage is reported 2 miles north of Gardendale.

This tornado is east of Kimberly. Locust Fork, Hayden, Nectar, Cleveland, Dallas, Selfville, Oneonta, and Lehigh are in the polygon.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
Southeastern Blount County in central Alabama…

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 515 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located over Kimberly, or 7
miles north of Gardendale, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Damaging tornado.

SOURCE…Public confirmed tornado.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Oneonta, Blountsville, Cleveland, Dallas, Locust Fork, Trafford,
Allgood, Fairview, Hayden, Nectar, Rosa, County Line, Inland Lake,
Highland Lake, Easley, Remlap, Fowler Spring and Clear Springs.
