Rain Shield Moves Slowly North

The large mass of rain continues to slowly edge north across South Central Alabama this afternoon.

A thick layer of clouds covers the southern part of Alabama. Partly sunny skies prevail over the northern half of Alabama.

Temperatures are generally in the lower 80s over central sections.

A few showers are over western sections, along the Lamar/fayette County line northwest of Fayette.

Additional showers. May form through the afternoon hours. The rain shield will edge northward through the late afternoon and evening hours as a low over the northern Gulf organizes and moves north.

UAB weather looks good for now. Could see a passing shower.

Light rain is approaching Auburn. The Tigers game could feature persistent light rain Tuscaloosa is escaping the rain for now and could come out better than expected rain wise. Still could see a passing shower or storm and increasing rain chances during the game.
