Portions of the Area in Slight Risk for Monday; Much of Area in Enhanced Risk for Tuesday

Severe Weather Outlook for Monday:

A level 2/5 Slight Risk is up for nearly all of the eastern half of Central Alabama, which includes the cities of Birmingham, Hoover, Clanton, Selma, Montgomery, Anniston, Talladega, Alexander City, and Auburn.

A level 1/5 Marginal Risk is up for nearly the rest of Central Alabama and much of the eastern half of North Alabama, including the cities of Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Gadsden, Troy, Eufaula, Cullman, Guntersville, Scottsboro, and Rainsville.

Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop by the afternoon with large hail and damaging gusts being the primary threats with the stronger storms. This activity is expected to weaken by early Monday evening.

Severe Weather Outlook for Tuesday:

A level 3/5 Enhanced Risk is up for nearly all of Central Alabama and all of North Alabama, including the cities of Florence, Russellville, Decatur, Athens, Hartselle, Cullman, Huntsville, Guntersville, Scottsboro, Rainsville, Hamilton, Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Birmingham, Hoover, Clanton, Selma, Montgomery, Gadsden, Anniston, Talladega, Alexander City, and Auburn.

A level 2/5 Slight Risk is up for the rest of Central Alabama, including the cities of Troy and Eufaula.

Widespread strong to severe thunderstorm development is possible Tuesday across the threat area. This will include a risk for large hail, damaging wind gusts and perhaps a couple of tornadoes.
