A Code Orange Air Quality Alert has been issued for Monday for Jefferson and Shelby Counties.

Ground ozone concentrations are expected to reach unhealthy levels for sensitive groups like children and people with asthma.

Try to conserve electricity. Limit driving. Avoid the use of gasoline-powered lawn and garden equipment. Reful after 6 p.m. and limit engine idling.

If you have trouble breathing, go indoors.
