The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Southeastern Bibb County in central Alabama…
Northwestern Chilton County in central Alabama…
Northern Perry County in central Alabama…

* Until 545 PM CDT.

* At 241 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen so far. Rainfall will continue from this slow-moving band
of rain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Marion, Heiberger, Talladega National Forest, Lawley, Randolph,
Oakmulgee, Ellards, Sprott, Trio, Morgan Springs and Folsom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 248 PM CDT, Doppler radar shows heavy rainfall moving into
areas that experienced flash flooding Monday afternoon. High
rainfall rates are occurring with this activity. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Southwestern Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer,
Homewood, Pelham, Mountain Brook, Indian Springs Village,
Riverchase Galleria, Inverness, The Summit, Patton Creek, Samford
University, Cahaba Heights, Meadowbrook, Riverchase, Oak Mountain
State Park, Oak Mountain Amphitheater, Brook Highland and Bluff
Park.
