EXPIRED – Flood Advisory for Parts of Shelby County Until 6:45 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
East Central Shelby County in central Alabama…

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 334 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen so far. Heavy rainfall will continue from this
slow-moving storm.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Columbiana, Wilsonville, Harpersville, Gaston Steam Plant and
Beeswax Creek Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
