Flooding Occurring in Portions of Jefferson & Shelby Counties… Turn Around, Don’t Drown

Here are some flooding reports coming in from the torrential downpours that are occurring over portions of Jefferson and Shelby counties (raw text from NWS Chat):

Alabaster [Shelby Co, AL] PUBLIC reports FLASH FLOOD at 3:37 PM CDT — SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IN SEVERAL SPOTS AROUND ALABASTER. WATER WAS OVER BRIDGES AND ROADWAYS WERE IMPASSABLE INCLUDING HWY 119, HWY 31, 1ST ST W, 8TH ST SW, AND OLD SIMMSVILLE RD.

1 ENE Birmingham [Jefferson Co, AL] PUBLIC reports FLASH FLOOD at 4:05 PM CDT — A FEW ROADS WERE IMPASSABLE NEAR PEPPER PLACE.

1 NE UAB Campus [Jefferson Co, AL] PUBLIC reports FLASH FLOOD at 4:15 PM CDT — A FEW ROADS WERE FLOODED AND IMPASSABLE NEAR UAB.

Alabaster [Shelby Co, AL] PUBLIC reports FLASH FLOOD at 3:37 PM CDT — SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IN SEVERAL SPOTS AROUND ALABASTER. WATER WAS OVER BRIDGES AND ROADWAYS WERE IMPASSABLE.
