Thunderstorm Update–8 am Report

The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Tuscaloosa expired at 7:45. However, the NWS now has a Significant Weather Alert for Tuscaloosa County. This is short of a warning.

The verystrong thunderstorm with lots of lightning and heavy rain continues eastward across NE and East Tuscaloosa County. Eastern edge of the thunderstorms now in West Jefferson County around Oak Grove and approaching the Pleasant Grove-Hueytown areas.

3340 Skywatcher, Richard Viola, in Pleasant Grove reports loud thunder waking everyone up with lots of cloud to ground lightning strikes.

Meanwhile, to the north, NWS Huntsville has posted a Flash Flood Warning for Colbert, Lauderdale and Franklin County until 10:45.

Most of the main line of thunderstorms still back in Mississippi.
