A Few Notes on Fred at 3:30 p.m.

| August 15, 2021 @ 3:25 pm

There is a powerful burst of convection going on right now near the center of Tropical Storm Fred. We don’t have a Hurricane Hunter plane in the storm right now, but it may be becoming better organized. How much of an increase in intensity that will result in will remain to be seen.

Another plane should be departing for the storm within the next half hour.

The model guidance is tracking back more to the east. It looks like the landfall made be more in the Destin/30A/Panama City areas. It will be interesting to see if the NHC shifts the track a little bit to the east.
