New Flood Warning for Parts of Colbert, Lauderdale Co. Until 7:45 pm

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
East Central Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Northeastern Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 745 PM CDT.

* At 609 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Rogersville, Killen, Lexington, Anderson, Kingtown, Elgin, Center
Star, Whitehead and Ford City.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.


Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
