Wind Advisory Issued for All of North/Central Alabama for Tonight Through Midday Thursday

The National Weather Service forecast offices in Birmingham and Huntsville have issued a Wind Advisory for all North/Central Alabama counties due to the threat of breezy sustained winds with occasional strong wind gusts.

Time of advisory: 10 pm tonight to 1 pm Thursday afternoon.

Central Alabama counties in advisory: Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston.

North Alabama counties in advisory: Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan.

What to expect: Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Impacts from gusty winds: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
