The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Franklin County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 630 AM CST.

* At 601 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Midway to near Sandy Springs to near Tupelo,
moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red Bay,
Cherokee, Littleville, Leighton, Belgreen and Vina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature’s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
