CANCELED — Tornado Warning for Parts of Coosa, Talladega Co. Until 11 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
Southwestern Talladega County in east central Alabama…
Northwestern Coosa County in east central Alabama…

* Until 1100 PM CST.

* At 1018 PM CST, a tornado producing storm was located near Lay
Lake, or 7 miles south of Columbiana, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Damaging tornado.

SOURCE…Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Sylacauga, Talladega Springs, Weogufka, Stewartville, Fayetteville,
Marble Valley, Strickland Crossroads, Lay Lake, Overbrook and
Gantts Quarry.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
