First Report of Travel Issues with Tonight’s Snowfall

At 11:42 pm, according to the radar, the western half of the precipitation shield is all snow with much of the eastern half remaining as rain or a wintry mix. However, this part of the system is over performing and is causing travel issues in portions of the area. Unfortunately, this will probably not be the last one for the night.

From the Cullman County EMA… All roads are now impassible in Cullman County.

NWS Huntsville continues the Winter Storm Warning for Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, and Morgan counties until 3 am. The Winter Weather Advisory for Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Lauderdale, and Marshall counties until 3 am as well.

NWS Birmingham continues the Winter Weather Advisory for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties until 3 am.
