Advisories/Watch Have Expired…BUT…

| January 16, 2022 @ 9:41 pm

The Winter Weather Advisories and the Winter Storm Warning that were in effect across Alabama have been canceled or have expired…

…….BUT…….

Black ice is possible tonight anywhere that lingering moisture from rains or from accumulated snowfall or slush may freeze. And freezing temperatures are expected for all areas north of Troy.

The good news is that Monday is a holiday, so the morning rush hour should be lighter than normal, but if you don’t have the day off and have to go in early, please, please, please use extreme caution, especially on bridges, overpasses, and elevated highways where water freezes first.

Do not assume that a well-traveled road will be free of ice.

Black ice is especially dangerous because you may not see it until you are on top of it.

Slow down. Allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination and check road conditions via local media or the DOT before leaving home.
