A Brief Check on Our Weather at 3:40 pm

It’s a mess out there across much of North/Central Alabama, as we have reached 3:30 pm on this stormy Thursday. All of the activity is north and west of I-85 at this time, but we notice that drier air is moving into the northwest corner of the state. For now, no warnings are in effect across North/Central Alabama, but there has been major damage reported down in Hale County near Sawyerville and Wedgeworth with entrapments and injuries.

A TORNADO WATCH continues until 6 pm for Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tallapoosa counties. The good news is that Greene, Hale, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties have been canceled from the watch as the threat for severe storms have ended for today.

A FLOOD WATCH continues for Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties in North Alabama until 9 pm tonight, but the flooding threat has ended for Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, and Limestone counties.
