A New Tornado Watch Issued Until 11 pm for Central Counties in the Area

A new Tornado Watch has been issued until 11 pm for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Jefferson, Lowndes, Perry, Shelby, and St. Clair counties in Central Alabama and Cullman, Limestone, and Morgan counties in North Alabama.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
Alabama
Western Florida Panhandle
Far Southeast Mississippi

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 405 PM until
1100 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include…
A few tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

SUMMARY… Severe storm/tornado risk will continue east-northeastward
this evening into additional parts of Alabama as low-level shear
remains strong.


A Tornado Watch continues until 7 pm for Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties in Central Alabama, and for Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, and Lawrence counties in North Alabama.
