Tornado Watch Issued to Our East; Waiting to See if Watch is Issued for Parts of North/Central Alabama

| April 6, 2022 @ 12:40 pm

The SPC has issued a Tornado Watch just east of the state for much of central and southern parts of Georgia from now until 9 pm CDT this evening.

• A few tornadoes possible
• Hail up to lime size possible
• Scattered damaging wind gusts up to 75 mph likely

We are waiting to see if the SPC will initiate a conversation with NWS Birmingham and NWS Huntsville on the potential of a watch for portions of North/Central Alabama. For now, only those parts of Georgia have been placed under a watch.
