Some of the best barbecue and sauce in Alabama isn’t sold out of a restaurant, shack, stand or food truck. You can actually pick it up at the grocery store.

In a building built around a smoke pit in Cherokee, Alabama, Bishop’s Barbecue is cooking pork low and slow but at a volume that would blow your mind. That is then chopped and put in vacuum-sealed bags and sent to grocers throughout north Alabama or shipped to your home.
