Alabama Just Before 10 pm
Rain has now overspread all of Alabama late tonight. Mostly light in the Extreme North but it will get heavier.
Just before10 pm, the heaviest rain was over parts of West and South Alabama especially between meridian and Montgomery.
Still little or no lightning in Alabama. However storms over the North Gulf of Mexico are loaded with lightning all the way from off the South Texas Coast to off NW Florida.
Flash Flood Watches continue for a number of counties downstate and a number of counties are under a Win Advisory. The low pressure area in the Gulf was just off the Louisiana Coast.
Interesting note tonight from Zeblin Harbin in Wilsonville. He reports an amazing 72.18 inches of rain so far this year through yesterday. He also said the ground was saturated and he was concerned about those big 100-foot tall oak trees in his yard!
We will have updates here on the blog off and on through the night, as the need arises.
