Potential Tropical Cyclone #15 is Named

| October 30, 2022 @ 4:37 pm

The NHC has designated the low-pressure system in the Central Caribbean as Potential Tropical Cyclone #15.

NOAA and Air Force Hurricane Hunters happened to find a well-developed low-pressure center and winds near tropical storm force.

The system could bring tropical storm force winds to Jamaica by tomorrow afternoon and Grand Cayman on Tuesday, so Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for those locations.

It is forecast to become a hurricane Tuesday afternoon.

By Wednesday, it will be approaching the coast of Belize with top winds in the 80-85 mph range. Landfall should occur after midnight Wednesday night/early Thursday.
