Morning Alabama Update–8:15 Report
Raining buckets from East Central Alabama down into the SE part of the state. The heaviest rain at 8:15 extended from Clay and Randolph County southward through Montgomery, Troy and Dothan. Thunderstorms are also in the mix over Extreme SE Alabama where a Tornado Warning had been posted.
A Tornado Watch continues until 10 am for Extreme South Alabama, NW Florida and the SW corner of Georgia. The watch does not include Mobile and Baldwin County.
Not much rain now over West and NW Alabama including the Birmingham Area.

THE BIRMINGHAM RAIN STORY
The 1.61 inches at the Airport overnight brought the 2009 total to an amazing 67.17 inches. That is an excess of 17.50 inches!
OTHER RAIN NOTES
Scrougeout in NE Etowah County reports 77.02 inches so far this year with an amazing 89.49 inches in the last 12 months since a year ago today.
BAD, BAD WRECK
Just got off the phone with Bill Murray who is enroute to Tuscaloosa. He reports a major accident and Interstate 59/20 is completely shut down NE and East bound in the vicinity of the University Blvd. exit
